BUILDING KNOWLEDGE FOR A CIRCULAR TEXTILE FUTUREโ
Purpose of the visit
This Learning Expedition in theย North of Portugal, hosted by theย Portuguese Textile Cluster / CITEVE, offers a unique opportunityย for Italian SMEsย to explore best practices in the Northern textile ecosystem, focusing on the circular economy, textile recycling (post-industrial and post-consumer), bioeconomy, and sustainable practices.โ
Over the two days, participants will have the chance to network and visit research and development centres, textile waste sorting operators, and a recycling company, discovering innovative solutions already in operation.โ
Main objectives

Understand the structure of the Northern Portuguese textile ecosystem and its sustainability and circularity policies.โ

Delve into circular economy models for textile recycling and analyse implemented practices.โ

Learn about the latest developments in textile and clothing materials and products with circularity and bioeconomy credentials.โ

Support for participants
TEX-BREIN will supportย 2 Italian SMEs (1 person each)ย affiliated with the Technological District of Fashion of Tuscany, covering travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses.โ
